Eden NE Celebrates International Women's Day
Eden NE is proud to support International Women's Day, and seeks to address gender balance in the nuclear industry. We have signed the Nuclear Sector Gender Commitment to a target of 40% women employed in nuclear by 2030.
Our Business Manager, Andrea Runkee, keeps our projects accounts running smoothly, enabling our staff make key contributions to our work for a wide variety of organisations such as:
- Nuclear Waste Services (Hannah Johnston, Amy Jukes, Rebecca Butler, Rosie Newton and Shelly Mobbs),
- Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (Amy Jukes, Rosie Newton, Hannah Johnston and Shelly Mobbs),
- EDF (Rebecca Butler and Rosie Newton),
- Sellafield (Shelly Mobbs and Rosie Newton),
- MoD (Hannah Johnston),
- IAEA (Shelly Mobbs).
To illustrate, Shelly Mobbs is our Chief Expert in Radiological and Environmental Protection and a director of our Trustee Company for Eden NE's Employee Benefit Trust. Shelly has provided support as an invited expert to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for many years, and most recently for an IAEA Cooperation Project with Fukushima Prefecture. The main role of the IAEA is to provide advice and support based on international experience and best practice. Since 2023 Shelly, as an invited expert in radioactive waste management, has attended a series of IAEA meetings in Vienna and Japan to finalise reports that will assist in the management of radioactively contaminated materials resulting from the Fukushima incident.
