Paul joined Eden NE in May 2025 as an Associate Director with 19 years working experience in the nuclear industry. He joined Eden from Cavendish Nuclear, where he was Section Lead for the Science Section (North). Roles prior to joining the nuclear industry include Senior R&D Chemist and Junior Lecturer / Advanced Research Fellow at Cardiff University.

Paul has expertise in applying waste (ILW) and spent fuel (PWR and exotic fuels including TRISO) management experience to technical delivery, strategic decision making and the development of business cases. He has also led technical packages of work in accordance with gated engineering delivery processes supporting solution development, and multi-disciplinary front end engineering design teams for solution development and through-life option definition.

Paul has a broad-based technical background in waste and spent fuel management, undertaking work for a broad range of clients including Babcock, the NDA (SL, DRSL, Magnox sites and NWS), EDF (Sizewell B and Hinkley Point C), X-Energy, U-Battery, KOPEC, SOGIN, Hitachi GE, Rolls Royce SMR and the MoD. Paul is also a trained meeting facilitator. Recently, Paul has led several work packages for client GDA submissions including the pre-concept design of a wet LLW cementation capability, fuel disposability submissions and through-life spent fuel management plans, decommissioning planning and transport strategy for construction, operations, defueling and decommissioning.

Paul has also acted as the technical lead for business case underpinning documents for a replacement waste management capability, UK alpha type testing capability and future spent fuel conditioning and storage capabilities.
