On 23rd September 2026 Eden NE held a Macmillan Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. So far, the event has raised £180 with the opportunity to raise more.

Many staff members at Eden NE have had experience of someone they hold dear being diagnosed with cancer and wanted to give something to a charity that supports those living with or affected by cancer. Macmillan Cancer Support provides many services to people affected by cancer, including specialist nurses, mental health support and guidance, financial guidance and general help and information about living with cancer. The Macmillan Coffee Morning gave us a chance to show our support for this charity.

As well as raising money for a worthy cause and raising awareness of the work Macmillan Cancer Support carries out, holding a coffee morning gave us a chance to come together as a team to connect with colleagues in an informal manner. Staff have indicated in recent discussions about promoting good mental health in the company, that they would like further opportunities to have more informal interactions with colleagues, and this event provided an opportunity for this. Those who were able to come into the office, attended in person and enjoyed some sweet and savoury treats during their coffee break. A mixture of home-made and bought treats were available. Those unable to attend in person joined online and supplied their own choice of treat.
